Photoshop editing – another example

Here another example for Post Processing and editing.

This is another image that I took during the 2010 Kitesurfing Worldcup in St. Peter-Ording. The original image is quite nice:

Alexandre Neto - before

Alexandre Neto - before

But it does not quite look “great”. Technically the image is fine – but it does not transfer any emotion… So I adjust some settings in Lightroom (more color, contrast and some vignetting):

Alexandre Neto - After, step 1

Alexandre Neto - After, step 1

I think it’s already looking much more “dramatic”. Still, there are the lines of another kite that distract. So just another “touche” with Photoshop to get those away:

Alexandre Neto - After, step 2

Alexandre Neto - After, step 2

Photoshop editing

Sometimes you capture a nice shot – but some items in the frame are just disturbing. That’s what Photoshop is for.

Here is an image taken in 2010 during the St. Peter-Ording Kitesurf-Worldcup:

Angela Peral before

I like this photo quite a lot. But there are too many disturbing things in the frame.

  1. The flags behind the Kitesurfer
  2. The people on the beach in the background right
  3. The guy behind the kite

So I loaded the image into Photoshop and after a couple of minutes stamping those issues out, here is what you get:
